The direct rule in the Comparative Law: the suspension of Northern Ireland Assembly and the Catalonian Autonomy

Abstract

[EN] The direct rule is not only regulate in the Spanish legal order. Through this paper, firstly, we approach to the regulation of said figure in the d¡fferent legal systems of our surroundings and, secondly, get to know how the direct rule has been enforced in to of the most well-known cases: the suspension of the Northern lreland Assembly through the XX and XXI centuries as an ¡nstrument to face the terrorism and the suspension of the Catalonian Autonomy after the declaration of the Catalan Republic and its immediate suspension.

[ES] La ejecución federal no es una figura exclusiva del Ordenamiento Jurídico Español. A través de este trabajo se trata, en primer lugar, de conocer las diferentes regulaciones de esta misma figura en otros Ordenamientos Jurídicos de nuestro entorno y, en un segundo momento conocer como se ha llevado a cabo su aplicación en dos de los casos más célebres.: las sucesivas suspens¡ones de la Asamblea de lrlanda a lo largo del siglo XX y XXI como mecanismo para hacer frente a la lucha terrorista y la suspensión de la Autonomía en Cataluña tras la declaración de la República catalana y su inmediata suspensión.
