Análisis de la evolución del patrimonio de empresas del sector farmacéutico a través del ECPN

Abstract

[spa] La crisis sanitaria provocada por la COVID-19 ha imprimido un notable impacto económico en todos los sectores productivos, sin que el farmacéutico suponga una excepción. Ahora bien, es posible determinar el grado de afectación que un concreto sector ha podido sufrir observando si la estructura patrimonial de las empresas que lo componen, es decir, su patrimonio neto, se ha visto alterado significativamente. Así, en este trabajo se analiza, atendiendo a la información financiera presentada por las principales empresas farmacéuticas cotizadas en bolsas españolas, si la COVID-19 no solo ha alterado el desarrollo de las actividades económicas de estas empresas, lo cual es evidente, sino también su estructura patrimonial. El estudio se practica desde la perspectiva del ECPN, documento contable de gran utilidad cuando se trata de analizar la evolución en el tiempo de las partidas que componen el patrimonio neto de una sociedad, en la medida en que muestra las relaciones de causa y efecto de cada operación realizada.

[eng] The health crisis caused by COVID-19 has brought a significant economic impact on all productive sectors, without the pharmaceutical being an exception. However, it is possible to determine the degree of affectation that a particular sector has suffered by observing whether the patrimonial structure of the companies that form it, this is, their net worth, has been significantly altered. Thus, this paper analyses, taking into account the financial information presented by the main pharmaceutical companies listed on Spanish stock markets, whether the COVID-19 has not only altered the development of the economic activities of these companies, which is evident, but also their patrimonial structure. The study is done from the perspective of the Statement of Changes in Equity, an accounting document of great utility when it comes to analysing the evolution over time of the items that form the net worth of a company, insofar as it shows the cause-and-effect relationships of each operation carried out.
