La composición del Tribunal Constitucional. Especial referencia a los casos de Alemania e Italia.

El presente Trabajo estudia la composición del Tribunal Constitucional español y la compara
con la situación de los tribunales constitucionales más prestigios y que le sirvieron de
inspiración: el Bundesverfassungsgericht alemán y la Corte costituzionale italiana. En primer
lugar, se realiza un breve repaso a los orígenes, la importancia y la significación de la justicia
constitucional. En segundo lugar, se analiza la composición del Tribunal Constitucional
español, con especial referencia a la reforma de más calado que esta ha sufrido: la introducida
por la Ley Orgánica 6/2007. En tercer lugar, se analiza el estado de la cuestión en Italia y
Alemania. Por último, se realiza una valoración crítica. El Trabajo muestra que la
composición del Tribunal Constitucional es adecuada, plenamente equiparable a la de los
tribunales con los que se compara, pero que existe margen para introducir ciertas reformas
que la mejoren.
