Enfermería y Medicina hospitalarias en los inicios de la transición sanitaria en Vitoria

Abstract

[ES] En un desamparo legislativo y asociativo hasta el siglo XX, la enfermería careció de capacidad para retener el grado máximo de competencias que alcanzaron durante el Trienio Liberal. La desaparición del matrimonio hospitalero favoreció el desarrollo del perfil técnico y medicalizado del varón, que se reforzará con la llegada de las Hijas de la Caridad, produciéndose durante el XIX un claro distanciamiento profesional entre practicantes y enfermeras sin que nos conste, hasta el siglo XX, percepción de conflicto competencial. La medicalización hospitalaria será inicialmente bien vista por los practicantes como refuerzo de su perfil técnico.

[EN] In a legislative and associative abandonment until the twentieth century, nursing lacked of capacity to retain the maximun number of competencies that had achieved during the Liberal Trienium. The disappearance of the couple in charge of the hospital favoured the male development in the technical and medicalized profile that was reinforced whith the arrival of The Daughters of Charity, producing a clear profesional distance between nurse partitioners and nurses during the nineteenth century. We have no evidence of competence conflict until the twentieth century. Hospital medicalization was initially approved by the nurse partitioners as a technical profile support for them.
