Sobre la edición de textos latinos medievales: la carta de Alfonso VIII a Inocencio III en 1212

Abstract

El autor de este artículo empieza con una reflexión sobre la edición de textos la-tinos medievales en España a comienzos del siglo xx. En su opinión, aunque la ediciones más recientes todavía contienen algunos pocos errores, la situación general ha mejorado. Posteriormente analiza dos ediciones de la carta del rey Alfonso VIII al Papa Inocencio 111 en 1212, anunciándole la victoria de las Navas de Tolosa. Luego el autor se centra en su propia edición de esta carta, partiendo de nueve manuscritos, que describe, relaciona entre sí y estu-dia en sus variantes gráficas. Por último incluye el texto latino de su edición, que va seguido del aparato crítico, la traducción al español y el análisis de las fuentes. =: The author of this article commences with a reflection on the edition of medieval Latin texts in Spain at the beginning of the twentieth century. According to him, although the most recent editions still contain a few mistakes, the overall situation has improved. Afterwards he analyses two editions of King Alfonso VIII's letter to Pope Innocent III in 1212, advising him of the victory at Navas de Tolosa. Then the author concentrates on his own edition of that letter, departing from nine manuscripts, wich he describes, he relates to each other and studies in their graphic variants. Finally he includes the Latin text of his edition, wich is followed by the critical apparatus, the translation into Spanish and the analysis of the sources.
