Resistir desde la vulnerabilidad: narrativas de mujeres subsaharianas sobre su tránsito hacia Europa

Abstract

This aim of this text is to analyze the resistances developed by sub-Saharan women who flee their countries for persecution on the basis of gender violence and undertake the difficult, long and extremely violent path to Europe. Starting from the active dimension of vulnerability as capacity to act agency and therefore of resistance, the article explores through Narrative Productions co-built with women living in the Basque Country (Spain) how agency is not limited to the opposition of domination systems, but rather it can be deployed within them, through performing and inhabiting the dominant social norms in a heterogeneous way. In the current context, where the politics of removal, exclusion and violence extend by leaps and bounds of the social body, especially against women’s bodies, these narratives break the vulnerability-agency dichotomy and emphasize how the context and social structures are key to enable or impede the autonomy and agency of women.; Este artículo tiene por objetivo analizar las resistencias que desarrollan mujeres subsaharianas que huyen de sus países por persecución por motivos de género y que emprenden el dificultoso, largo y violento camino hacia Europa. Partiendo de la dimensión activa de la vulnerabilidad como capacidad de agencia y, por tanto, de resistencia, se explora a través de Producciones Narrativas co-construidas mujeres residentes en el País Vasco cómo la agencia no se limita a la oposición de los sistemas de dominación, sino que puede desplegarse al interior de los mismos, a través de performar y habitar las normas sociales dominantes de manera heterogénea. En el actual contexto, donde las políticas de despojo, exclusión y violencia se extienden a pasos agigantados por el cuerpo social, arremetiendo especialmente contra los cuerpos de las mujeres, las narrativas cuestionan la dicotomía vulnerabilidad versus agencia y enfatizan cómo el contexto y las estructuras sociales son determinantes para posibilitar o impedir la autonomía y agencia de las mujeres.
