Historicismo, positivismo y tradición: la música popular tradicional vasca y su historiografía (siglos XIX-XX)

Abstract

First of all, this essay focuses on valuing some of the newest drummer historiography's works, the one which arose from 1985 to the end of the millennium. Second, I try to examine the historicist line and the contributions made by Restoration's chroniclers to the drummer culture. Finally, I end up by reflecting on the significant influence that the mixing among the positivism, the romanticism and 19th and 20th centuries' folklore has had on the working of the Great Basque tradition's speech whose main protector and custodian the drummer would be.; El ensayo se centra, en primer lugar, en valorar algunos trabajos de la novísima historiografía tamborilera, la surgida a partir de 1985 hasta el final del milenio. A continuación someto a escrutinio la línea historicista y las aportaciones que a la cultura tamborilera realizaron los historiadores de la Restauración. Finalmente, concluyo formulando algunas reflexiones en torno al trascendental peso que ha tenido la mixtura del positivismo, del romanticismo y del folklorismo vasco del Ochocientos y Novecientos en la elaboración del discurso de la Gran Tradición, de la cual el tamborilero sería uno de sus singulares valedores y guardianes.
