Pío Moa y Víctor Suvórov: sobre la historia de dos debates

Abstract

The beginning for two historical discussions connected with names of Pío Moa and Víctor Suvórov was given at different times in Spain and Russia. On the one hand, their comparison could seem strange, since that intellectual ambience, in which they were formed and developed in one country was invisibly far from the situation on the other. But if we examine more detail, the presence of many similar lines inherent not only in the discussions, but also in their inspirers becomes obvious. In both countries the activity of Moa and Suvórov became a cultural phenomenon of huge importance since the time they had the much bigger response in the society, than usual historical debate. Mainly, it has been connected with that from the beginning in addition to the scientific community it has joined his polemic many representatives of the public opinion. And the same main participants have chosen the tactics of the appeal to the popular masses that has multiplied the strong social resonance and has led finally to the considerable politicization of this topic.; Dos debates historiográficos comenzaron en España y Rusia, vinculados a los nombres de Pío Moa y Víctor Suvórov, en diferentes momentos. A primera vista, la comparación entre ambos puede parecer extraña, puesto que el ambiente intelectual en que se originaron y desarrollaron era muy distinto en un país y en otro. Examinada más detalladamente la cuestión, se evidencian semejanzas no sólo entre las dos discusiones historiográficas, sino también entre sus inspiradores. En ambos países los casos de Moa y Suvórov han supuesto un fenómeno cultural de gran importancia, porque tenían muchísima más resonancia en la sociedad que los debates históricos habituales. Esto, sobre todo, se relaciona con que, desde el principio, en ambos debates, además de intervenir la comunidad científica, se han sumado a la polémica muchos representantes de la opinión pública. Además, los protagonistas principales de cada uno de los debates han escogido la táctica de apelar a públicos masivos, lo que ha multiplicado la gran resonancia social del asunto, llevando finalmente a su politización.
