Abstract

La obra del sociólogo Harry Collins sostiene que existen acciones humanas imposibles de automatizar mecánicamente porque requieren habilidades interpretativas sólo obtenibles mediante socialización, único modo de interiorizar el conocimiento tácito. Collins analiza distintas variantes de éste, subrayando el conocimiento tácito socialmente compartido. En éste se basa el saber experto, entre cuyas diferentes modalidades Collins distingue aptitudes contributivas, interaccionales, evaluativas y de gestión. Desde la sociología de la producción, transmisión, mecanización e institucionalización del conocimiento experto, las aportaciones teóricas y empíricas de Collins pueden contribuir al análisis de controversias sociotécnicas en ámbitos tecnocientíficos y políticos, entre otros; Sociologist Harry Collins’ recent work proposes that there are human actions which can never possibly be automated because they require interpretative skills which can only be acquired through socialization the only way to interiorize tactic knowledge. Collins de- scribes the several strands of this, particularly socially distributed tacit knowledge, essential for expertise. Within this he differentiates and analyses contributive, interactional, evaluative and management compe- tence. Theoretical and empirical findings of his studies in the sociology of the production, transmission, auto- mation and institutionalization of knowledge with dif- ferent degrees of expertise may contribute to the anal- ysis of sociotechnic controversies in politics and the tecnoscientific realm, among others.
