dc.description.abstract | This paper presents a comparative study of predicate nominals in eventive copular sentences. I am concerned with languages that grammaticalize the contrast between eventive and non-eventive copular sentences, and I discuss here three cases: the optionality of the indefinite article in French and German, the two verbs 'to be' in Irish, and case marking in Russian. | |
