No future: Bilbo hiriaren urperatze eta biziberritzea
Abstract
[EU] Eskorbuto punk taldearen hitzek 1980. hamarkadan Bilbon bizi zen egoera
gogorra eta lazgarria islatzen zuten. Horrela, no future lelo britaniarrak oihartzun
handia izan zuen, 1973. urteko krisiak Bilboaldea desindustrializatu eta langileria
egoera zaurgarrian utzi baitzuen. Hiriaren egoera latzari aurre egiteko, 90.
hamarkadan zehar transformazio urbanistiko eta arkitektoniko izugarria bultzatu zen,
non Guggenheim museoa bezalako makro-proiektu kulturalek garrantzia handia izan
zuten. Testu honek 90. hamarkadatik gaur egun arte burututako hiriaren eraberritze
prozesua du ikergai, paisaia geografikoaren eta espazioaren ekoizpenaren inguruko
ekarpen marxista garaikideak baliatuz. Amaitzeko, lan honetan hiru makro-proiektu
kultural —Guggenheim museoa, Alondegia eta Arte Ederren museoa— aztertzen
dira, hirigintzaren berrien norabidea eta ondorioak arakatzeko asmoz. [EN] Eskorbuto punk band’s lyrics reflected the context and tough conditions Bilbao
was suffering from during the 80s. This is why due to the 1973 crisis that
deindustrialized the area and left workers in a vulnerable position the british no future
motto gained prominence. In order to overcome this situation, during the 90s the city
started an unprecedented urban and architectural transformation in which cultural
large-scale projects such as the Guggenheim Museum were essential. This paper
therefore evaluates with the help of modern marxist’s perspective regarding
geographical landscape and space-production the process the city of Bilbao has
gone through since the 90s. Finally, in contemplation of the course and
consequences of this new means of urbanisation, three large-scale projects have
been investigated in this paper: the Guggenheim Museum, the Alhóndiga Bilbao and
the Fine Arts Museum.
culturales. Museo Guggenheim, Alhóndiga y Museo de Bellas Artes
