Research on Marine Energy has matured during the last decade and many effective
applications of this technology are now successfully deployed. This International
Workshop on Wind (and) Marine Energy (WWME) provides a forum to present and
discuss the latest scientific developments and their current applications, to assess the
impact of these new renewable energies approach, and to facilitate technology transfer.
WWME has started as a local initiative, associated to projects RTI2018‐094902‐B‐
C21 and C22, led by ISCAR group at University Complutense of Madrid
(http://www.floatingwindturbineucm.com) and Automatic Control Group at UPV/EHU
(https://www.ehu.eus/en/web/acg/ikerketa). It has become in a short time a yearly
platform to present, discuss, and disseminate the latest developments and the most
important outcomes related to Ocean energy applications in research and education. It
provides a unique opportunity to bring multi-disciplinary experts, academics and
practitioners together to exchange their experiences in the latest developments, discuss
and debate the major issues. Other stakeholders should be rewarded with a better
understanding of the potential and challenges on Wind (and) Marine Energy
