Sesenta años de Beckett en España: "Esperando a Godot": de la censura a la audiodescripción

Abstract

Samuel Beckett has been present in Spain’s audiovisual and printed culture for over sixty years, since the premiere of Waiting for Godot/ Esperando a Godot in 1955. This play has been produced on Spanish stages on many occasions and was even broadcast in Spanish television, RTVE, in 1978, the year the Spanish Constitution was passed. In the 21st century we have traced over ten productions, including the 2013 accessible (audiodescription, subtitles and sign language) production. The translations of Waiting for Godot in Spain are here considered as a textual chain and, as such, compared and studied.
