The intramolecular Mizoroki-Heck (M-H) reaction is a powerful carbon-carbon bond-forming process for the construction of small and medium-size carbocycles and heterocycles. Different strategies have been developed to avoid the syn β-hydride elimination on the carbon directly involved in bond formation, so that the elimination takes place in another β´ position, allowing the generation of tertiary and quaternary stereocenters. In this review, the most significant strategies used for the generation of stereocenters in its application to the synthesis of heterocyclic systems will be discussed, including cascade processes.es_ES
