Multi-responsive hydrogels for biomedical applications.

En esta tesis nuevos hidrogeles responsivos han sido desarrollados con el fin de obtener materiales bio-compatibles que permitan la liberación de fármacos y posible tratamiento de enfermedades. Los hidrogeles termo- y pH-, ROS- o termo-, pH- y ROS- responsivos fueron sintetizados por foto-polimerización de los monómeros en pocos minutos. Sus propiedades fisicoquímicas fueron estudiadas mediante el empleo de técnicas como FTIR, VIS-UV, Reología, SEM, ángulo de contacto, test de compresión, microscopía confocal y Raman, ensayos MTT de viabilidad celular y de halo de inhibición para bacterias, además de otros. En estas caracterizaciones se mostró que los hidrogeles son versátiles, sus propiedades físico-químicas pueden variar dependiendo de la composición del hidrogel, de la temperatura, pH y del ambiente ROS, además del tiempo. Son hidrogeles foto imprimibles con alta precisión. Los hidrogeles son biocompatibles con algunos grupos celulares como E. coli, S. aureus, B16F10, NIH y RAW 267.4. Fue posible encapsular fármacos como Gentamicina Sulfato, 5 Fluoruracilo y Ketoprofeno mostrando alta eficiencia en la liberación de estos en condiciones controladas.
