dc.description.abstract | [EN] Spanish published translations of James Joyce's play Exiles are compared with the original English text and both Spanish texts are also submitted to close scrutiny to verify an initial hypothesis of plagiarism. When compared, the Argentinian 1964 edition and the text published in 1971 in Spain seem to share traits compatible with a process of intralinguistic rewriting (plagiarism) identified in instances of word for word copy, copy with minor modifications to adapt the Argentinian Spanish idiom to Peninsular Spanish, and misinterpretation of source mediated Spanish text, among others. It can be said that when dealing with the study of interlinguistic transfer (i.e. translation) in the field of drama, other types of textual transfer seem invariably to be at work, from standard adaptation to plagiarism. | es_ES |
